Cove secure their place in the Championship with victory over Dumbarton
What a remarkable journey Cove Rangers are on. Just 3 years ago, they were playing in the Highland League - now they're League 1 champions.
Cove got into the SPFL in 2019 following victory over Berwick Rangers in the play-offs, before winning League 2 in season 2019-20.
Last May, Paul Hartley's side suffered an agonizing extra time defeat to Airdrie in the play-off semi final. But this season they've been in incredible form, going 25 games without defeat to claim the League 1 crown.
Over 1,600 fans packed into Balmoral Stadium, ready to party. And that they did, after skipper Mitch Megginson scored in the 75th minute to secure a 1-0 win over Dumbarton.
Now they can prepare for life in the 2nd top tier of Scottish football.
