Kilmarnock will return to the Premiership next season after a dramatic night at Rugby Park.

Derek McInnes' men had to come from behind to beat Arbroath and seal top spot.

James Craigen scored after just nine minutes to give hope to Dick Campbell's side.

But second half goals from Ash Taylor and Blair Alston swung the Championship title Killie's way.

It means the Ayrshire side bounce back to the top flight at the first time of asking after being relegated last season.

They had a shaky start to life in the second tier under Tommy Wright before he was given his marching order.

Derek McInnes was drafted in and made some crucial January signings - including Kyle Lafferty - who helped boost them up the table.

A win for Arbroath would have seen them go into the final day of the campaign on top - but it wasn't to be for the Red Lichties who will now fight it out in the promotion play-offs.
