Motherwell sign Rangers defender Adam Devine on loan

Published 1st Feb 2024

Motherwell have completed the signing of Rangers defender Adam Devine on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The 20-year old has made 11 appearances for the Ibrox side since coming through the youth academy - but only one under current manager Philippe Clement.

He becomes their sixth signing of the summer after Adam Montgomery, Andy Halliday, Sam Nicholson, Callan Elliot and Jack Vale.

Montgomery has been ruled out for the next few months after making just one appearance this month.

A club statement read: "Adam Montgomery has suffered a serious injury that will keep him out for a considerable period of time.

"The full-back, who had joined on loan from Celtic, made his debut in the 3-1 victory over Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Cup.

"However, he had to withdraw from a training session and has since undergone scans to determine the issue.

"Montgomery has now returned to Celtic to undergo his rehabilitation.

"Speedy recovery, Adam."
