Queen's Park appoint Callum Davidson as new manager
The former St Johnstone manager will take over at Hampden
Queen's Park have appointed Callum Davidson as their new manager on a deal until 2026.
The 47-year old will replace Robin Veldman who left the club last month following a 4-1 defeat to Inverness.
Davidson returns to coaching after creating history while in charge of St Johnstone.
He won the Scottish Cup and League Cup double during the 2020/21 season and also secured a 5th place finish in the Scottish Premiership.
The Saints survived the relegation play-off the following season before Davidson was sacked in April 2023 with the club sitting in ninth place.
Davidson will be assisted by Liam Craig who played under him during their double winning season at McDiarmid Park before joining his coaching staff.
Club President David Hunter said: “I am delighted to bring someone of Callum’s experience to Queen’s Park. He had a distinguished playing career, won two major trophies as a manager and he is the perfect choice to lead our club going forward.
“I would also like to thank Paul Nuijten and the coaching staff for the job they have carried out with the first team squad in recent weeks. Paul will assist Callum with the first team squad and both Charley King and Tam O’Ware will return to their important roles at the club.”
Callum Davidson added: “I am excited to be joining a club with such an illustrious history. I am impressed with the plans that Queen’s Park have for the future and am looking forward to getting on the training pitch and working with the players.”
The Spiders currently sit 9th in the Championship and face Raith Rovers on Saturday.
