Rangers have completed the signing of Polish defender Mateusz Zukowski from Lechia Gdansk.

The 20-year old has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the club getting a hold of their replacement for Nathan Patterson.

Patterson signed for Everton earlier in the January window, leaving Rangers searching for a back-up option to captain James Tavernier.

Zukowski has made 60 appearances for Lechia Gdansk since graduating from their youth academy.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has made the move this window with the youngster's contract expiring at the end of the season.

Zukowski told the club's official website: “I am delighted to join Rangers and to make this next step in my career.

“I have been so impressed with everything I have seen and heard about Rangers and to join a club of this size is fantastic for me.

“I look forward to meeting my teammates and to making my debut in front of the supporters as soon as I can.”
