St Mirren complete signing of Croatian defender Mateo Muzek
St Mirren have completed the signing of Mateo Muzek from Shakhter Karagandy - but the deal has not come in time for the Croatian defender to face crisis-hit Hibernian. The 23-year-old left-back has joined Saints until the end of the season but he will have to wait for international clearance before making his Buddies debut.
Capped for Croatia up to Under-21 level, Muzek joined Karagandy in 2018 from Azerbaijani side Neftchi Baku and made 30 appearances for the Kazakhstan outfit.
He becomes Oran Kearney's eighth signing in the January transfer window following Saturday's loan capture of Danish winger Anders Dreyer from Brighton.
Hibernian travel to Paisley with academy boss Eddie May in charge amid reports manager Neil Lennon and number two Garry Parker have been suspended following a heated dressing room summit with the Easter Road side's under-performing squad.
