David Turnbull has completed his move from Celtic to Cardiff City.

The 24-year-old has joined the Welsh club for a reported fee in the region of £2million.

The midfielder spent three-and-a-half years at Parkhead following a £3million move from boyhood club Motherwell.

Turnbull made 134 appearances in green and white, scoring 31 goals and winning six trophies.

He played a good part in last season's treble-winning team under Ange Postecoglou but has seen his chances limited under Brendan Rodgers this campaign.

After making the move, Turnbull said: “I’m delighted, I’m buzzing to be here.

"It’s been a long day or two, but I’m really glad to get it over the line and can’t wait to get started. When I heard of the interest, I was very keen.

"It’s a huge Club. I’ve watched them in past and want to be a part of it now and kick on.

“It’s a great city and when I arrived at the stadium, it was nice to see it. It’s brilliant and I’m really looking forward to it.”

With five Scotland caps to his name, Turnbull will hope his move to the English Championship boosts his chances of making Steve Clarke's Euro 2024 squad.

Brendan Rodgers' signing have made one addition on transfer deadline day, bringing in Adam Idah on loan from Norwich City.
