An e-bike rider has been left seriously injured after a crash with a car in Plymouth.

Emergency services were called to Alma Road, at the junction with Outland Road, at around 11pm last night.

Police say a collision occurred between a silver Vauxhall Insignia and a Sur-Ron Electric Bike. The car failed to stop at the scene.

The rider of the bike, a 41 year old man, sustained serious life threatening injuries, and is currently being treated in hospital.

Police would like the public’s help tracing a silver Vauxhall Insignia registration FP09FYD. It’s believed this vehicle is in the Plymouth area and will have front end damage.

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
