Google services including YouTube down across the globe

Gmail and Google docs have also been affected

Today (Monday 14th December) some of Google's key services have been down including YouTube, Gmail, Google Docs, and many more.

Users flocked to social media to flag the issue after seeing error messages including, "We’re sorry, but your account is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience and suggest trying again in a few minutes."

It appears that services which require an account/log in were affected.

As of 12.55, most services appear to be back up and running, after around an hour of down-time.

It's not clear what the issue was, but it led to people missing deliveries because their smart doorbell wouldn't work, smart lighting being unable not turn on and lots of jokes about Googling what had happened.
