If you’re stuck for ideas we’re here to help. We’ve put together a handy little guide to treating Mum – with everything from afternoon teas to Greatest Showman singalongs.

Of course, you should tell your mother you love her all the time, not just for one day a year.

6. Treat your mum to Afternoon Tea or a day outdoors at the National Trust

This Mother’s Day a number of National Trust sites are taking bookings for special afternoon teas. Treat yourself to a mini cream tea for two in the tea-room at Castle Ward (£10 for two). At the Causeway Hotel, enjoy a tasty carvery lunch together before walking along the Causeway trail down to the Giant Boot.

Enjoy a good old gossip as you stroll around the gardens at Rowallane, Mount Stewart or Castle Ward. Go back to your childhood and spend an invigorating afternoon collecting shells on the beach at Portstewart Strand, Murlough Nature Reserve or White Park Bay.
