Shane, Nicky, Mark and Kian were in Belfast last month for a special 'Twenty Tour' press conference Q&A:

Having last played the Odyssey Arena as part of their farewell tour in 2012, Westlife say they are glad to be back.

"We're excited to be Westlife again," Shane Filan told the media at today's Belfast press conference.

Kian Egan added, "You're going to see Westlife 2.0. We have a legacy to come back to that we're so proud of and we want to grow that, between the music, the concerts, everything."

They also said that fans were going to be "taken aback" by the new music they were working on with Ed Sheeran and revealed a new single could be released before Christmas.

The decision to get back together stemmed from a dinner between Kian Egan and Shane Filan a year and a half ago.

"Myself and Shane had dinner a year and a half ago, we had a few drinks and as the drinks got more so, the reminiscing got bigger and it got to a point at the end of the night where we were almost back in dreamland," Kian revealed.

"We had a chat, then left it for quite a few months, it was almost like, 'Do we talk about it again?' Then we had a chat on the phone and it was text messages and chats between everyone, and then we got everyone together over at Nicky's house to talk about really doing it, and that led us to here."

Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan will reunite, without former member Brian McFadden, to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary.

Westlife first started out in 1998 with a string on Number 1 songs in 1999 such as 'Swear It Again', 'If I Let You Go' and 'Flying Without Wings', to name just a few. Their huge success continued into the 2000s, however Brian McFadden left the band in 2004. Following Brian's departure, the group went on to release six more albums adding to the massive success they had as a five-piece.

During their incredibly successful years, Westlife sold a massive 40 million studio albums worldwide and had 14 Number 1 singles in the UK.
