The Shires, the first British Act To Win A CMA Award and with two Gold certified Albums to their Name, have high hopes for their third studio album, which is being supported by a UK tour later this year, although no Irish dates have have yet been announced, north or south.

In what sounds like a tongue twister, the UK's most popular ever country act have just released their art work for their up and coming album 'Accidentally on Purpose'. The album is due out on April 20 through Decca Records.

This morning the artwork for the new album was sent by email to all of their mailing list subscribers.

The cover (above) shows the duo Ben Earle and Chrissie Rhodes.

They say that 'Accidentally on Purpose 'is full of personal songs that really sum up the whirlwind journey we’ve been on together. From the first day we met, we’ve been crazy dreamers with big plans, who really believed that Country could break into the U.K. mainstream. For all those dreams, we never imagined it would all happen so quickly and we’re so proud and excited to be releasing our third album.”

In a twist they also revealed that Chrissy is expecting a baby, due just a day before the album release date. It's going to be a busy spring for the band!

The 2018 tour kicks off on May 12 in Guildford. Keep an eye on Downtown Country for any Irish dates to come!
