West Belfast: murder probe under way after death of a man

A murder investigation was under way today (Thursday) after the death of a man in west Belfast last night.

The man had been found seriously injured in the Cupar Street area just after 8 o'clock.

He died in hospital a short time later.

The PSNI said a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remained in police custody.

Officers remained at the scene overnight with cordons in place.

They are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to contact police.
