Over 500 former Wrightbus employees and their families have held a peaceful protest outside a Ballymena church, Green Pastures.

Around 1,200 posts were lost after the firm entered administration last week, following cash flow problems and the failure to find a new owner.

The protest at the church comes as questions have been asked regarding allegations which suggest that £15 million may have been donated to the Green Pastures charity.

Founder Sir William Wright received applause from the workers as he arrived at the church, and was seen talking to his former employees.

Community police mingled with the demonstrators but the atmosphere was not violent, and was described as peaceful.
