About David Coleman

David took the traditional route into radio, he started at the age of 16 at Belfast City Hospital in 1986. “I heard that Downtown was launching a new radio station starting in 1990 which was Cool FM, so gave it a go.”

Fun Fact: David’s favourite musical artist is Robbie Williams. “I’ve followed Robbie’s solo career closely since the release of his debut album Life Thru a Lens in 1997. He is a great character and performer and has a mischievous look.”

Football, Fifa and food are David’s passions – baking in particular, he’s the station’s very own ‘Paul Hollywood.’

What’s been your all-time favourite gig and why?

“This is a difficult one. You remember your first which for me was Deacon Blue at the Kings Hall but I would say Robbie Williams at Dublin’s Phoenix Park in August 2003. We got ourselves to the very front, great gig and atmosphere.”
