About Paul Orr

“My shows takes the listener back to the 90s.” .

Paul has been at Downtown for over three years. He has more than 15 year’s radio experience and has worked for two years in Spain across two different stations, Marbella in the mornings and Malaga in the afternoons.

Paul left the sunshine of Benalmadena and Christmas barbeques on the balcony, to return home and grace us with his radio experience. He now hosts the Downtown afternoon show from 1-4pm which he describes as a mix of contemporary music, an audience with family and friends and a healthy mix of Paul’s dry wit thrown in to keep the listeners on their toes.

His ‘music club’ will know all too well of his adoration for the 90s and his love of classic disco which he generously shares on his programmes. Paul also has an intriguing alter ego named Cyril which he indulges once a week to mock the biggest news events, in true Paul Orr fashion.

Listeners will also be familiar with his ‘pointless question’ and ‘let’s get ready to mumble features.’ His quirky style has earned him loyal music club listeners which he describes as his audience of family and friends that have stuck by him over the years.

His club know all about Paul’s love of photography and motorbikes. He often takes off up the North Coast armed with his camera and his BMW R1200 GSA adventure bike. These Paul Orr mystery tour biking adventures often feature as an intriguing talking point with his fan club and he treats them to his tales of the road brightening up Monday mornings. Before his radio career, Paul worked in the fire service for 23 years as a watch commander throughout the troubles.
