It's been just over a month since the new five pound note was released into circulation so we thought we'd get together some things you probably don't know about the new note.

1. Money, money, money

Your new fiver could fetch you a small fortune, recently notes with low serial numbers have sold for hundreds or even thousands of pounds.

Surprisingly a note that isn't even a low serial number sold on eBay for £80,100, if you don't believe us check out the listing.

2. They are difficult to tear

While one 'selling' point is that they are difficult to tear, however apparently it is quite easy to tear the note once there is a nick in the edge.

3. You can play vinyl

It's time to dig out your old records, there's no need for a needle, just pull out your new fiver and place it in the grooves of the record as it spins around. In the words of Dannii Minogue's song, 'Put the "fiver" on It'.

4. It will melt

But not until it reaches 120 degrees Celsius, so that's quite unlikely.

5. You can use it as a straw

OK, so it isn't really advisable, but as the £5 note is waterproof you could also use it as a straw.

6. Sticky business

TheBank of Englandhas warned that sometimes the new notes will stick together, so you should be careful when handing them over. Over time they will become less sticky.

7. Reveal a starfield

If you shine a laser through the Queen's neck on the new fiver it will reveal a starfield. While it isn't known whether or not this is intentional it is quite fun to try out.

8. Play blow football

The popular kids game can be played by rolling up a couple of £5 notes and blowing through them. Goal!

9. Micro-lettering

It isn't just a pretty pattern around the word FIVE under the Queen's portrait. If you look very carefully with a magnifying glass you'll be able to see the micro-lettering saying '5' and 'FIVE'.
