Menswear designer Robyn Lynch, originally from Malahide Dublin, set pulses racing earlier this week, showcasing her creative spin on a classic Irish wardrobe staple – the GAA jersey.

For her first solo catwalk show at London Fashion Week, Robyn took a deep dive into her father’s wardrobe.

Paul Mescal might have made GAA shorts cool last summer, but Robyn has certainly given these vintage jerseys a new lease of life.

This latest Irish inspired collection was designed in collaboration with sportswear brand Columbia. She plays with bold colours, dramatic shapes and trendy textures.

The audience inside the Newgen space in the old Selfridges hotel took to their feet after the show.

Luke Leith of Vogue Runway was at the runway show and he commented on vogue.com: “All of those sportswear behemoths out there—Hi-Tec, Umbro, Asics, Prince, Ping, and so many more—would benefit massively from a Lynch remix. Give her partners, and this designer will shine.”

Irish band Fountaines D.C were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of her new collection, they even got to wear something in their new music video.

Robyn shared a snap on her Instagram, the caption read: “The only people I would lend a piece from an unreleased collection to - @fontainesband

@grianwhitegold wearing our Dublin jumper, made from scans of my dad’s old jerseys (1995 for this jumper) and input into @synflux.io Algorithm. Knitted from cotton yarns in Japan”

How cool!
