The Garvagh & District Development Association (GADDA) works to support the residents of Garvagh and the neighbourhood by the advancement of education and the provision of facilities for social welfare, recreation and leisure. They provide a venue to run educational facilities and to provide a range of rooms for groups in the area. At present current activities include Hampsey School of Traditional Music,Hampsey Harp School, Community Educational Programme, Diamond Club and Muddy Boots. The building provides a neutral venue for these groups to expand and grow which in turn benefits the wider community. The funding received from Cash for Kids will allow GADDA to run a Lantern Making Class and Christmas Story Telling in a local forest. This will help bring together children from the local rural area from all cultural backgrounds who do not normally have the opportunity to participate in such fun events. Children will also have the opportunity to learn new skills and become more environmentally aware of their surroundings.
