Take That star and all round nice guy Gary Barlow was the victim to a cruel Twitter hacking over the weekend, but it seems the ‘Shine’ singer wasn’t going to let it bother him and replied with a great response.

On Sunday afternoon Gary’s twitter account was hacked, with the online troll posting a rather abusive message out to his 4.3 million followers. The unpleasant message read, ‘Die Barlow you **. A slow and f**** painful death’.

The shocking tweet was quickly deleted by Gary’s account, with the 45-year-old reassuring fans the hacking clearly hadn’t bothered him. He wrote, ‘Drama over. Password changed. Let’s face it, we’ve seen worse!’

This didn’t stop his fans showing their support for the singer. The ‘GB Army’ were quick to state how ‘jealously’ would have been a factor in the hacking and showed their support for their idol.

Meanwhile Gary’s brand new show Let It Shine debuted on TV at the weekend with figures suggesting an average 6.2 million viewers tuned it.

The show sees Gary searching for five stars to star in an upcoming musical based on the music of Take That. Dannii Minogue, Amber Riley and Martin Kemp all joined Gary on the judging panel, with Graham Norton and Magic presenter Mel Giedroyc fronting the show.

Viewers were left blown away by contestant Jason Brock after his incredible performance of Whitney Houston’s ‘Run To You’.

However, some felt annoyed that Jason is already a professional performer and stars in Michael Jackson musical Thriller.

After the show aired it seems Gary was feeling reflective, taking to Twitter to tell fans he is ‘blessed and lucky’ to have amazing opportunities and thanked his fans for their support.

Let It Shine continues next Saturday.
