Line of Duty and Trigger Point star Vicky McClure knows how to keep audiences on their toes!

Last night saw the much-anticipated first episode of the six-part thriller Trigger Point, created by the producer of Line of Duty and written by Daniel Brierley.

We’ve been dying to see Vicky McClure back on our small screens, and she certainly didn’t disappoint.

Without giving away too many spoilers, fans have noticed a couple of similarities between Vicky’s characters in both police dramas.

In Trigger Point, Vicky plays Lana Washington, an experienced bomb disposal operative, who has nerves of steel. Her role in Line of Duty, as Detective Inspector Kate Fleming can be ruthless, determined and placed in compromising situations also.

Speaking on Friday night’s The Graham Norton Show, Vicky opened up about her love for the Line of Duty team, including local legend Adrian Dunbar.

Filming for series 2-6 took place here in Northern Ireland, and Vicky shared her experiences living in Belfast.

"I adore it there. I am not very good at being away from home, so I have kind of made Belfast my second home. St George's Market, the Belfast Bap, The Spaniard, these are all my spots that I have adopted."

The Spaniard were elated to hear Vicky gave them a shout out on the show! They took to social media, sharing a sweet message to the award-winning actress.

“Awwwww, thanks so much for the shout out on last night's Graham Norton show @vicky.mcclure, we love having you as part of our adopted family. ❤️❤️”

It’s not entirely clear if there will be a series 7 of Line of Duty, but here’s hoping we’ll see the cast return to Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter some time soon.
