This company are asking people to bring their cats to work to counteract stress

17 years ago, one of Hidenobu Fukuda's employees asked to bring his pet cat to work at Ferray, an IT firm in Tokyo. And now, the head of Ferray encourages all his employees to bring their cats into the office, to relieve stress.
He even gives workers a bonus if they adopt a cat! "I also give 5,000 yen (about $45) a month to those who rescue a cat," Hidenobu Fukuda told the Agence France-Presse.
The cats even have their own Twitter account, @v_ume; and even if you can't read Japanese, the photos of adorable kittens make it worth a follow. There are plenty of cats on keyboards, which is really all you need to feel happy in life.
Research has shown that having a pet around can improve a person's mood and prevent feelings of loneliness. Some studies have even found a link with decreased blood pressure and cholesterol!
So by promoting a cat-friendly environment, Ferray aims to improve their employees' happiness levels. Plus, who wouldn't want a lovely purring cat sat on your lap when you're trying to make yet another graph?
