Belfast actor Anthony Boyle has gained recognition for his work both on stage and on screen.

One of his most notable roles is playing Scorpius Malfoy in the original West End and Broadway productions of the play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child."

Boyle picked up the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his portrayal of Scorpius, as well as a host of other awards.

Having started on the stage, it wasn’t long before Boyle swapped the theatre for TV, having starred in several exciting series/shows.

Where is Anthony Boyle from?

Born in west Belfast in 1994, Boyle went on to study at Cardiff’s Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he graduated in 2016.

Anthony Boyle is set to take the world by storm in the upcoming Second World War drama Masters of the Air coming to Apple TV.

Masters of the Air

Boyle plays Major Harry Crosby in the upcoming series 'Master of the Air' on Apple TV+. Harry is a navigator in the US Air Force's 100th Bomb Group - an older version of Crosby narrates the series.

Tetris

Another Apple TV+ performance, Boyle takes on the role of Kevin Maxwell in Tetris, alongside Taron Edgerton. Maxwell is the son of British newspaper proprietor Robert Maxwell.

Danny Boy

Boyle starred in the BBC drama, Danny Boy, based on the true story of Lance Corporal Brian Wood. Danny Boy explores the soldier's decorated career, which spanned over seventeen years - and the falsified allegations of war crimes made against him and his regiment after returning from Iraq in 2004.

The Plot Against America

Boyle plays Alvin Levin, a rebellious young Jewish man who's forced to watch his community fall apart just as he's trying to find his own path.

Tolkien

The Tolkien biopic is a moving story of four young male friends that helped inspire The Lord of the Rings. Boyle plays a close friend to author Tolkien, their brotherhood strengthens as they grow up, until the outbreak of the First World War which threatens to tear their fellowship apart.

Ordeal by Innocence

Wealthy philanthropist Rachel Argyll is murdered at her family estate Sunny Point. Her adopted son Jack Argyll, a young delinquent, is arrested for her murder. He vehemently protests his innocence.

Come Home

Come Home is a three-part BBC drama, Boyle played teenager Liam, who's mother suddenly left the family home.

Derry Girls

Boyle played the young heartthrob David Donnolly, he caught the eye of Derry Girl Erin aka Saoirse-Monica Jackson. He played in a band and also DJ'd on the side for extra cash.

The Lost City of Oz

The Lost City of Oz is a true-life drama, following British explorer Major Percival Fawcett, who disappeared whilst searching for a mysterious city in the Amazon in the 1920s.

Game of Thrones

Filmed here in Northern Ireland, it's no surprise that Boyle took part in the HBO series Game of Thrones as a Guard for House Bolton.
