The Script, made up of vocalist Daniel O'Donoghue, guitarist Mark Sheehan, and drummer Glen Power, kick off their 'Greatest Hits' tour in Belfast this weekend.

On Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th May, the Irish lads are set to hit the SSE Arena Belfast stage.

This tour compiles all of the biggest hits and fan favourites from their six albums so far. It highlights the classics like 'Hall of Fame' featuring will.i.am and 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved.'

The collection honours everything that the trio have achieved together since forming fourteen years ago.

You might remember back in February we had a 'The Script' month, and four lucky listeners got the chance to watch the band live in New York's Radio City Music Hall.

We caught up with one of the winners, Gillian Fair, who couldn't quite believe her luck getting the chance to actually meet the band in NYC.

Gillian and her husband Gary at Radio City Music Hall back in Feb just before they met The Script backstage

"What can I say and were do I start! Winning the trip to NYC and going to meet The Script and watch them perform in the iconic Radio City Music Hall was simply amazing, it was a trip to remember that's for sure!

Myself and husband Gary were so grateful for the amazing opportunity and experience, it was a fantastic prize! The concert was fantastic and the fellas from the Script were so lovely to meet before they performed.

"We had a blast during our trip, lots to see and do! We hired bikes and cycled the entire Central Park, the weather was fantastic during of trip and the cherry blossoms around the city were in full bloom. We ticked off so many landmarks too, from the Rockefeller Centre to the Flat Iron Building.

WHO IS SUPPORTING THE SCRIPT ON THEIR 'GREATEST HITS TOUR'?

Ella Henderson will be supporting The Script on their tour for their UK dates. The Script announced the news last year with a video saying: 'The Script Greatest Hits 2022 Tour with support from @official_ellahenderson!'.

9 fun facts you might not know about The Script 👇

1) Danny O’Donoghue and Mark Sheehan had been best friends since they were 12

They used to be in boyband Mytown together, put together by none other than Louis Walsh!

2) Danny and Mark produced songs by Britney Spears, Boyz II Men and TLC

They lived in Los Angeles together, and had a call from Danny's future co-star on The Voice will.i.am, who requested a song for Britney's 2013 album 'Britney Jean' - and they co-wrote 'Now That I Found You'!

3) 'If You Could See Me Now' was written in memory of Danny's late father

Danny's dad Shay sadly passed away on Valentine's Day in 2008, six months before the band's hugely successful self-titled debut album. He has a rose tattoo in memory of him.

4) The band name was inspired by the time they spent living in LA

Apparently, everyone was always talking about film scripts, and the pair would often joke and say: "What's the script?" instead of: "What's up?"

5) Danny apparently shared his pay from The Voice with his bandmates

Danny was a judge on The Voice for the first two series of the show in 2012 and 2013.

6) When he was 17, Danny accidentally spilled wine over The Edge

That's the U2 guitarist, by the way. U2's manager also managed Danny, and the groups spent time together one evening - during which Danny got rather inebriated and fell down a flight of stairs in front of Bono!

7) They once spent a whopping £22k round on drinks for 8,000 people

They told us all about it in November 2019. Mark explained: "Last year when we did the Freedom Charter we bought the biggest round of drinks in history," he explained, as his bandmate Danny added: "Yes, 8,000 drinks - do you know how much the bar bill was? £22,000. Imagine me waking up the next morning and checking my wallet, I was like, 'Oh no'."

8) All of their studio albums have been to Number 1 in Ireland

That's 'The Script' (2008), 'Science & Faith' (2010), '#3' (2012), 'No Sound Without Silence' (2014), 'Freedom Child' (2017) and 'Sunsets & Full Moons' (2019).

9) The Man Who Can’t Be Moved spent over a year in the UK charts

63 weeks, to be exact!
