The family of a woman who died after being struck by a stolen car, have said they are 'overwhelmed' by the support of the local community.

Young mum Lisa Gow was hit on the Ballysillan Road on Thursday morning.

The Police Ombudsman has said that the car was being followed during a police chase when the incident happened.

Officers confirmed they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

In a statement, released by local councillor Dale Pankhurst on Saturday, Lisa's relatives described her as 'full of joy, energy and love.'

The family also said they were 'overwhelmed by the response and the caring nature of the community' and they thanked locals for the messages of support 'from right across the community.'
