Newtownards gymnast Rhys McClenaghan is a world champion
Rhys McClenaghan has taken gold at the FIG World Artistic Gymnastics Championship in Liverpool.
The Newtownards gymnast was third to go and was boosted by the fact two of the previous competitors - Loran de Munck of the Netherlands and Japan's Ryosuke Doi both suffered slips.
McClenaghan's clean routine saw him go into first place with a score of 15.300.
