Murray is 10 years old. He lives in Prestonpans with his parents. He has severe additional needs as the result of a very rare chromosome disorder. Murray is unable to communicate, has no mobility and is double incontinent.

Murray's sleeping position was a worry for his parents, the family had to improvise using soft toys to try to keep him in a position that would minimise the risk of damaging his posture as he slept.

This is what his parents had to say...

"In October 2019 we were awarded with a 'Sleep System' for Murray. This has helped to keep Murray straight in bed. He has hip problems which are often painful, and curvature of the spine. Due to Murray’s additional needs he can’t correct his position himself and the sleep system helps reduce the damage done while he is in bed.

Murray is non-verbal so can’t say for himself, however we can tell by his expressions and improved sleep pattern that he is happy. For us as parents we feel relieved knowing we are doing the most we can to ensure any worsening of his posture is limited while he is in bed.

THANKYOU. A lot of the equipment we need for Murray is specialised and very expensive. Cash For Kids makes it possible to provide what Murray needs for his health and needs."

When you have a child with additional support needs, the financial pressure is huge. These pieces of equipment are vital for these children to live happier and more comfortable lives but the price tag is so high they are often not affordable for families.

Thank you so much if you donated to our charity last year, as you helped pay for this piece of equipment for Murray! We are often told that we are the light at the end of the tunnel for these families, especially for parents with children with disabilities. So thank YOU for your continued support.
