10 Memorable Super Bowl moments
Coldplay have been announced as performers at the Super Bowl in 2016.
With the announcment that Coldplay will be performing at next year's Super Bowl we thought we'd look back at some of the most memorable moments from the half time performances.
10. Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye (1995) -----------------------------------------------------------------
Designed by Disney to promote the opening of the Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye in Disneyland this halftime show included sky-divers, acrobats, fire-breathers and pyrotechnics including some of them arriving by parachute.
9. Aerosmith, NSYNC and Britney (2001) -------------------------------------------
Fusing together rock and pop Aerosmith, NSYNC and Britney came together to perform a special version of 'Walk This Way'.
8. Bruce Springsteen slides into the camera (2009) -------------------------------------------------------
Bruce Springsteen performs along with the E Street Band and does a slide along the stage directly into a camera.
7. U2 9/11 tribute (2002) ------------------------------
Less that six months after the tragic events of 9/11 U2 performed their song 'Where the Streets Have No Name' while the names of all the people who were killed were projected on the screen behind them.
6. Bruno Mars performs a drum solo (2014) ----------------------------------------------
Bruno Mars starts the performance with a fantastic drum solo, then the Red Hot Chili Peppers join and it all goes a bit strange. They perform without plugging in their electric guitars!
5. Diana Ross leaves in a helicopter (1996) ------------------------------------------------
Queen diva Diana Ross performed 'I Will Survive' before being whisked off in a helicopter from the centre of the playing field.
4. Michael Jackson rockets through the stage (1993) --------------------------------------------------------
The legendary singer appears on stage to perform a medley of his best tunes. Unlike most halftime performances he was the only person to perform that year.
3. Beyoncé reunited the girls (2013) -----------------------------------------
The 'Runnin' singer had her silhouette set on fire and then reunited the Destiny's Child girls for this halftime performance.
2. Katy Perry's left shark (2015) --------------------------------------
Katy Perry was upstaged by one of her dancers dressed as a shark who seemed to have his own routine.
