Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall has taken to Instagram to show off the results of his second successful hair transplant.

Alan opened up about his decision to go under the knife again yesterday, insisting that hair loss was “not something to be ashamed of” and that he’d encountered plenty of other men “who have confidence issues etc because of losing their hair”.

And now the actor, who has played mechanic Tyrone Dobbs on Coronation Street for more than two decades, has updated his fans with the results.

“Thanks for all your lovely messages, everything went well and I feel great aside from looking like a naughty 90’s pop star,” he wrote, alongside a picture of him post op with the sides of his head clean shaven and a tousled sprout of hair on top.

Alan had his first hair transplant in 2016, and since then has undergone quite the transformation, shedding some extra pounds to reveal a slimmer, healthier physique last year.

Fans were stunned when he shared a picture of himself and co-star Samia Longchambon celebrating her birthday last summer, with many commenting on his weight loss.

These days Alan’s Instagram is full of videos of himself working out or playing sports, with plenty of captions about body confidence.

'Trying to work out whilst laughing at @colsonjsmith having fun & working hard 😰,' he wrote alongside one post. 'Health is not just about the weights you’re lifting or what you’re eating. It’s also about what you’re thinking and saying !!”
