Gerard Butler reveals the devastation a California wildfire has caused to his house

He's posted a photo of the damage

Over the weekend, various wildfires in California have been ravaging the areas to the north of Los Angeles, including the area where many celebrities live. Many of those celebrities have been sharing footage of the devastating fires including, actor Gerard Butler, singer Lady Gaga and members of the Kardashian/Jenner family.

Olympus Has Fallen actor, Gerard Butler recently posted news that his house was destroyed by the fires. Posting a photo of himself, showing the charred remains of his house and a car in the background, he captioned his photo, 'Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating. Heartbreaking time across California. Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters. Thank you @LAFD.'

Fans of the actor rushed to share messages of sympathy saying, 'The most important thing: you're safe. Firefighters are heroes 24/7.', 'So sorry but so glad you're safe. Sending love from Scotland 💙' and 'Sorry to see this, easy to say that everything is materialistic but a home is a home. Most importantly you and yours are safe. Kindest of thoughts from us Welshies.'. sic

In just two days, the entire city of Malibu which is home to many rich and famous, has been evacuated, with many other celebrities sharing their concerns over the fire. Lady Gaga took to her Instagram Story to post footage of her team evacuating her house, with dark grey smoke clouds overhead.

The pop star later took to Twitter to say she was thinking of those affected by the fires, 'I am thinking so deeply for everyone who is suffering today from these abominable fires & grieving the loss of their homes or loved ones. I’m sitting here with many of you wondering if my home will burst into flames. All we can do is pray together & for each other. God Bless You.'

The 'Bad Romance' singer then went on to thank the firefighters and other emergency services saying, 'Thank you to the fire fighters, police, first and emergency responders for doing above and beyond everything you can do to help us. You are true heroes. #CaliforniaFire'.

Robin Thicke and his girlfriend have also been affected by the fires, with the 'Blurred Lines' singer posting footage of them evacuating under red skies from the fire's smoke.

Robin's girlfriend, who is currently pregnant, also posted a photo of the huge clouds of smoke as they engulf the hillside where many of the properties are.

Pop star Katy Perry also tweeted her support for the community over the weekend saying, 'There’s a lot of unknowns tonight... but what we do know is we are here for you and as a community we will help in any way possible. Immense gratitude to all the brave first responders out there putting their lives on the line for so many families.'
