Jeremy Clarkson to face no further police action
He will face no more charges
North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that Jeremy Clarkson will face no further action after his attack on a Top Gear producer last month.
The former BBC presenter reportedly left Oisin Tymon with a split lip after an altercation at a hotel. However the producer said that he didn’t wish to press charges against his former colleague.
Clarkson reported the incident to the BBC and was initially suspended, before it was announced that his contract would not be renewed.
The police have spoken to people who witnessed the ‘fracas’ and has now completed its routine enquiries.
It said: “Now that all the interviews are complete, we have properly established that there is no need for further police action.”
Meanwhile, it has emerged that Clarkson will appear on stage again with this former Top Gear co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May later this year, to fulfil a number of gigs planned by the BBC before the incident.
The shows be will stripped of all BBC branding and content, and will be called ‘Clarkson, Hammond and May Live’.
This change will mean that the shows, which hit countries such as Australia, Norway, South Africa and the UK, will not be able to feature any audio or footage from the show, and cannot feature The Stig.
