Former Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively went all Serena van der Woodsen on us earlier this week, dramatically deleting all of her Instagram photos and unfollowing almost everybody, including her husband Ryan Reynolds.

But don't panic, Hollywood's super couple haven't followed in the footsteps of Brad and Ang and Tom and Katie, they are still very much together.

In fact, Blake has now revealed the reason for her drastic Instagram action and it all makes sense now.

As well as deleting all her pictures and her profile picture, Blake now only follows 38 people who all have the name 'Emily Nelson', as well as changing her bio to read, 'What happened to Emily?...'

Posting a short teaser trailer to her account for her brand new film A Simple Favor, which stars Pitch Perfect actress Anna Kendrick, Blake simply wrote, '👋 ... (SOUND UP!!!🔔🔊🔔🃏😁)'.

The film, which also stars the likes of Rupert Friend and Henry Golding, is a thriller mystery and is due out in cinemas in September 2018.

After the uncertainty around Blake's Instagram activity earlier this week, and the fickle relationships in Hollywood, many fans were worried that she'd split from Deadpool actor Ryan.

Now we know that's not the case, being the typical comic that he is, Ryan made fun of the situation during a recent interview. Speaking on a radio show to promote Deadpool 2, Ryan admitted he is "very sad" about it.

He sarcastically said, "Definitely stinks. It's a terrible way to find out that I've been kicked out of the house, to be honest. Absolutely terrible. I don't know where rage like that comes from."

The couple are known for their hilarious social media banter with each other. Earlier this year when reports suggested they'd split up, Ryan responded to the claims in the best possible way.

Tweeting a news report that suggested the couple weren't spending enough quality time together, Ryan sarcastically wrote, 'I wish. I could use a little “me time"'. sic
