In a shock announcement T in the Park's organisers DF Concerts have announced that the festival will be taking a break next year.

The statement read,

"To the best audience in the world,

For over 23 years, T in the Park has been at the heart of Scotland’s music scene – with you, by our side. But for now, sadly, we need to take a break."

T in the Park started in 1994 when there were just two festivals in the UK and their aim was to give "Scottish music fans an unforgettable weekend with their friends."

However, the last couple of years have faced challenges and the festival was forced to move from Balado, Kinross last year from its home of over two decades.

The move to the new site resulted in a number of problems and they organisers say they need to "take a year out to try to resolve the issues".

Over the years T in the Park has entertained thousands of people with massive acts such as Calvin Harris, Bastille and David Guetta.

The statement signs off "Until the next time…" with a link to a video which you can watch below.
