The new Disney animation Moana is due out next week and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson proves he has quite a singing voice!

Natalie from our Ents team caught up with star of the film Auli’i Cravalho who won the part of Moana beating off competition from hundreds of hopefuls.

Moana is a 16-year-old girl growing up on an island where voyaging is forbidden, she is desperate to find out what is beyond the sea so she embarks on a mission to become a wayfinder. Whilst on her travels she comes across the once-mighty demi-god Maui (Dwayne Johnson).

Speaking to Natalie Auli’i describes Moana as a "kick-butt heroine" who hits a demi-god with a paddle.

The native Hawaiian explained how she didn't actually meet Dwayne until the filming had finished and said it was "really incredible" getting the chance to finally meet the person whose voice she had been hearing for about a year during the recording of the film.

Natalie also interviewed the co-directors of the film, Ron Clements, John Musker who explained how they managed to get the former professional wrestler to sing!

Grammy award winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda worked with Dwayne looking at his previous singing experience. By writing for his vocal range this resulted in quite a performance from the wrestler-come-actor for the part of Maui.
