The song made by the Boogie in the Morning team has been months in the making with your help. Now we need your support to try and have a chart hit.
The story so far...
Back in January Boogie asked the question "how hard can it be to get a number 1 single". The team then set themselves the challenge to create a hit record and get it in the charts.
First of all we asked you to suggest a classic song that we could re-work in to a dance track. After sifting through dozens of suggestions we picked Marillion ‘Kayleigh’ because of its local connection – Fish from the band lives in East Lothian.
We then recruited Arlene’s son Robbie to produce the song for us. He is studying music production at Edinburgh’s Napier University - and he was free! We worked with him to come up with a sound we liked and that would fit in well being played on the radio station.
You came to our aid again when we needed to recruit a vocalist for the song. We asked people to call in to the radio show and do a live audition over the phone. We then invited 9 people to audition in front of our X Factor-style judges – Boogie, Arlene and Marty. They selected Caitlyn Vanbeck and the winner.

Caitlyn is from Tranent in East Lothian. She got through to the judges houses stage of The X Factor in 2016. However, Simon Cowell decided not to take her through to the live shows. She performs many gigs and has released her own music.
Finally, we needed a name for the act – BAMR was suggested by one of our listeners. It stands for Boogie, Arlene, Marty, Robbie.

BAMR Launch Party
On Thursday 27th September we held the launch party for 'Break Your Heart'. Caitlyn Vanbeck performed the track alongside some of her own material. It also featured Robbie's band Chameleon Lady.
