Celtic have confirmed the capture of Japanese forward Kyogo Furuhashi on a four-year deal.

The club say the deal is done 'subject to the satisfaction of usual conditions and international clearance'.

The agreed fee is reported to be in the region of £4.3million.

Manager Ange Postecoglou told the club website: “We are delighted to bring Kyogo Furuhashi to Celtic. He is a player of real quality and clearly someone I know well".

The 26-year old was the top scorer in the J-League last season striking 14 times in total.

He becomes the fourth signing for Postecoglou

Local reports say the agreed fee could be as much as £5million - which would be close to a record sale for any Japanese club.

Sheffield Wednesday duo Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide have already joined the club while Israel winger Liel Abada joined for a fee in the region of £3.5million.
