More pop-up covid vaccine centres in East Lothian
New pop-up vaccine clinics are being launched in East Lothian this week as Covid cases continue to spread across the county.
The latest number of confirmed cases rose to 536 over the last seven days as more than 12 percent of tests came back positive â higher than the national average of 11 percent.
One additional Covid-related death was also recorded.
Nearly one in four positive cases were reported in the towns of Tranent and Prestonpans where the pop-up clinics will open.
In Tranent, where 63 cases were recorded over the last week, a clinic will be held tomorrow for those still waiting on their first vaccine jab or due their second dose.
East Lothian Council has been overseeing the roll out of drop-in clinics in the county with a vaccine bus opearting in Dunbar and Musselburgh.
The latest clinic in Tranent will operate out of the George Johnstone Centre.
On Thursday a clinic will also be held in Prestonpans, where 64 cases were recorded at Prestongrange Church hall. In the neighbouring community of Cockenzie a further 35 cases were recorded over the last week.
Latest figures reveal nearly 93 percent of over 18s in East Lothian have received their first vaccine dose with 64.7 percent already receiving their second dose.
