Teenager arrested after woman, 33, dies following report of 'disturbance'

An investigation's been launched after a 33-year-old woman died following a report of a disturbance in Edinburgh.

Emergency services swooped on the scene, in the city's Constitution Street, after the alarm was raised shortly before 8pm last night (Thursday).

A woman was found with serious injuries and was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh but died a short time later.

Police say a 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.50pm on Thursday (May 18th), we received a report of a disturbance at Constitution Street, Edinburgh.

“A 33-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries and died a short time later.

“A 16-year-old male youth has been arrested in connection with the death.  Enquiries are ongoing.”
