Fife company Raytheon consulting staff on redundancies
Forth News has seen a letter to workers, it's understood 57 are to be paid off
We understand one of Fife's biggest employers is in consultation with staff about redundancies.
US defence firm Raytheon has a manufacturing site in Glenrothes.
A worker whose job has been identified at being at risk tells us 57 employees could be paid off.
A letter to staff, seen by Forth News blames a reduction in exports and delayed programmes.
One worker, who wishes to remain anonymous said: "It affects all employees apart from lead hands and some management who are more than likely to follow temp contract workers to Livingston plant," they said.
"57 employees in total to be paid off including the 28 temporary staff they currently employ
"All managers and charge hands are not included in this and no voluntary redundancy accepted as they have a factory in Livingston.
So workers are expecting to be moved there or made redundant."
The company has not responded to our requests for comment.
