Hunt for prisoner who absconded from HMP Castle Huntly

A man has absconded from a prison near Dundee, police have said.

A man has absconded from a prison near Dundee, police have said.

Brian Travers, 43 was reported missing from HMP Castle Huntly near Dundee at 10am on Friday July 8.

It is believed that Travers has connections in the Fife and Edinburgh areas and Police Scotland are appealing for information regarding his whereabouts.

He is described as being six feet tall, slim build, clean shaven and completely bald.

Members of the public are being asked to not approach him if they see him.
