Man arrested in connection with armed robbery in Edinburgh

The incident happened at the convenience store in Walter Scott Avenue.

A three-figure sum of cash was said to have been taken, during the robbery at the Scotmid store on Walter Scot Avenue in Edinburgh.

Staff were allegedly threatened with what appeared to be a handgun during the incident at around 7.20pm on Sunday April 15.

A 42-year-old man is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ''Detectives would like to thank the public for their support during the investigation.''
