Manhunt After Pub Bouncer Assault

A pub bouncer's been hit over the head with a glass in Edinburgh after trying to stop a fight.

Police are hunting a man who smashed a glass over the head of a pub bouncer who was trying to stop a fight.

The incident happened in the Black Bull pub in the Grassmarket area of Edinburgh, at around 11.30pm yesterday.

An altercation between two men broke out and a bouncer in the pub intervened to break it up. When he did so, another man hit him over the head with a glass, police said.

The bouncer suffered a cut to his forehead and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspect is white, in his mid 20s, around 5ft 10in with a heavy build. He has short dark hair and was wearing a dark shirt.

He was last seen heading towards Victoria Street with one of the men from the original altercation, officers added.

PC Chris Harding said: We are appealing for anyone who was in the Black Bull pub on Saturday night and who recalls witnessing this assault to come forward.
