Police appeal after motorcyclist killed on A6094 in Midlothian

Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal road crash in Midlothian.

Around 7.50pm on Tuesday, 22 August, 2023, police were alerted to a single vehicle road crash on the northbound carriageway of A6094 between Rosewell and Howgate in Midlothian.

Emergency services attended and the 41-year-old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified.

An investigation is under way and the road was closed for several hours to allow crash scene investigators to conduct enquiries at the scene.

Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: " We are in the process of establishing the full circumstances of this collision and I am appealing to other road users who were in the area at the time to contact us with any information they may have. If anyone has dash cam equipment, please check it as it could hold footage which could assist our investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3496 of 22 August, 2023.
