Motorcyclist killed in crash with van in Fife

The 31-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

A motorcyclist has died after his bike was involved in a crash with a van.

The incident happened just after 7pm on Thursday on the A907 at Bogside, west of the Devilla Quarry, Fife.

Police Scotland said the 31-year-old man suffered serious injuries when his motorcycle collided with a Ford Transit van.

Emergency services were called but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police closed the road for more than five hours while they carried out investigation work at the scene. Anyone with information which could help the police inquiry is being urged to come forward.

Sergeant Derek Allan, from the road policing unit in Glenrothes, said: Tragically, this collision has resulted in the motorcyclist sustaining fatal injuries and we are now continuing with our investigation to establish the full circumstances of what took place.

Anyone who was on the A907 on Thursday evening and witnessed the incident is asked to contact police immediately.''
