Man, 20, named after fatal Linlithgow crash

A 20-year-old man who died in a single-vehicle car collision in Linlithgow has been named as Gareth Hempseed from Dunfermline.

He was the passenger in a black Audi S1 when it crashed on Auldhill Road on Monday at around 8.35pm.

The driver, a 23-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and has since been released.

Police issued an appeal on Tuesday asking for any information that could be useful while they investigate.

Sergeant Dave Waddell said: “Our thoughts remain with Gareth’s family and friends at what is a very difficult time for them.

“Enquiries into the full circumstances continue and anyone who has not already spoken to officers is asked to call us on 101, quoting incident number 3583 of 29 April, 2024.”
