Two police officers are seriously injured after their patrol car crashed on M90 last night.

The BMW left the road just north of Kelty and ended up on a grass verge.

In the last hour, Police Scotland's revealed more details about the crash.

A statement says the officer who was driving is in Edinburgh's Western General with neurological injuries.

The passenger has back injuries and he's currently being treated at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

It happened at 21:40 last night as they were responding to reports of a drunk driver.

The road was closed for around twelve hours while investigations took place.
