School boy dies after taking unwell at Edinburgh High School

A teenager has died after collapsing at an Edinburgh school.

The 15-year-old boy experienced a medical emergency shortly after 3pm today near Forrester High School, on Broomhouse Road - Police say there are no suspicious circumstances.

An ambulance was called but unfortunately the youngster passed away.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed the death and added: "On Tuesday, March 14, police were called to a report of a 15-year-old boy having collapsed on Broomhouse Road. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

A local church has invited locals to attend this evening for "quiet reflection."

St David's Broomhouse Parish Church read: "Following the difficult circumstances earlier today, the church will be open tonight, 2000-2100 (8pm-9pm) for quiet reflection and the opportunity to light a candle. All are welcome."
