Scot sheltered in beachfront apartment as horror unfolded in Nice

Kirsten Somerville, originally from Glasgow, joined friends to celebrate Bastille Day in Nice last night.

The graduate moved to the city to work recently.

Watching the annual fireworks display from a rooftop there was no indication of what was to come. The friends went inside afterwards, where they heard gunshots - it was only when they went to leave the apartment they realised just what had happened.
