Scottish stars launch international fundraiser to revamp Princes Street Gardens
Alan Cumming and KT Tunstall helped launch an international fundraising campaign
An international fundraising campaign for the redevelopment of Edinburgh's West Princes Street Gardens was launched at a star-studded event in New York on Saturday night.
Olivier and Tony Award-winner, Alan Cumming, hosted the showcase of Scottish culture which also featured BRIT award-winner KT Tunstall and US actress Alexandra Silber.
Edinburgh singer/songwriter Alannah Moar represented Edinburgh after winning a public vote.
The event, held in the Lincoln Center, was organised by The Quaich Project which is behind plans to redevelop the city centre Ross Bandstand and surrounding gardens.
Design of the project has been produced by the US-based architectural practice, wHY following an international design competition.
Alan Cumming OBE, The Quaich Project's North American Ambassador, said: "Scotland's ties with the USA and New York in particular are incredibly strong.
"Both are centres of excellence for the arts, and the Scottish diaspora helped to make New York the city it is today.
"Edinburgh has strong emotional connections for many New Yorkers, so bringing the best new talent from the city and outlining the plans to create an inclusive space in the heart of the city, was a great pleasure."
