If you love your holidays, then you might want to get in quickly with booking your annual leave for 2025. Here we take a look at how to maximise your annual leave next year, but of course there are a few conditions. Don't worry if you can't fulfil all the conditions, you can still maximise your leave with some careful planning.

As much as some of us might like our jobs, a day off is always greatly appreciated, so if you work Monday to Friday and have Scottish Bank Holidays off, then you could potentially get 59 days off using just 27 days annual leave, here's how...

January 2025: Wednesday 1st January - Sunday 5th January

With two Bank Holidays and one day annual leave, you can enjoy five full days off work at the beginning of the year.

April 2025: Saturday 12th April - Sunday 20th April

Thanks to Easter, we get another Bank Holiday and by booking Monday 14th April - Thursday 17th April off, you can enjoy nine days off work.

May/June 2025: Saturday 3rd May - Monday 11th May / Saturday 24th May - Sunday 1st June

May is a month with two Bank Holidays, and by taking off Tuesday 6th May - 9th May and Tuesday 27th May - 30th May you can enjoy a total of nine days off around each Bank Holiday.

August 2025: Saturday 2nd August - Sunday 10th August

With another Bank Holiday in August, by booking Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th August off you can enjoy nine days off in total.

November/December 2025: Saturday 29th November - 7th December

With St Andrew's substitute day being on Monday 1st December, by booking off the rest of the week you can enjoy a full nine days off work.

December 2025: Saturday 20th December - 1st January 2026

Later on in December, with Christmas Day and Boxing Day Bank Holidays, and the two New Year's holidays on 1st and 2nd January 2026, you can book just six days off on 22nd - 24th December and 29th - 31st December, to enjoy a mega 14 days off!

As mentioned there are a few conditions for this to work, you must work Monday to Friday, and have the Scottish Bank Holidays off, but if you do, it's possible to get a massive 58 days off, using just 27 days annual leave!

You'll have to be quick though, because it's likely that your workmates will also be requesting these days off!
